about me
I am a Fashion Designer and Illustrator, who focus’ on streetwear and alternative clothing. I also base a lot of my work on political issues and popular culture.
ABSTRACTION
Within the Abstraction project I focused on the idea of free association, mainly how music affects emotions and the way we express ourselves. For my final piece for this project I chose to use the song “Slut Like You” by P!NK to express my frustration about gender inequality within modern relationships. I then used this song and idea to create and adapt a bridal-style dress into an independent female empowerment piece of wearable art. The spray paint way of defacing the garment was inspired by Alexander McQueen’s 1998 Runway show.

EMPOWERMENT
“Protect Your Daughters, Educate Your Sons.”
The focal point of this project was the Sarah Everard vigil in 2021, as well as the sexual assault issue surrounding women. I was massively inspired by the Punk fashion and music scene in the 1970s, mainly because of the way they used fashion to protest their opinions about current issues. Within this project I also took inspiration from artists and designers such as; Vivienne Westwood and Jean-Michael Basquiat, as well as Greek Mythology, primarily the story of Medusa. The photoshoot and styling of the garments that I produced were as important as the garments themselves. At the start of the course I wouldn’t even have my photo taken for the course, but by the time I did this I had grown in confidence enough to wear and style my own designs to demonstrate my confidence in myself and positive attitude.
